Muay Thai Beginners is perfect for those who are new (including no experience) in Muay Thai, but its also useful if you already have been practicing for a while but want to focus on learning the technical details of the art.
Week after week, we’ll cycle through all the Fundamentals of Muay Thai – stance, footwork, weight-shifting, punches, kicks, elbows, and knees, and teach you how to hold pads correctly.
And don’t let the name of the class fool you! Even seasoned Muay Thai practitioners find this class to be a serious workout!
This will let you develop the skills you need to join us in our Intermediate and Sparring programs over time.
This is a 1.5 hour class for Muay Thai practitioners who want to go beyond the basics.
To join this class you should be able to complete a Beginner’s class with no breaks, finish all rep counts fully, confidently hold for all Muay Thai strikes on the pad for a partner and know the fundamentals of how to throw all Muay Thai strikes.
The class will be 20-30 minutes of conditioning with the rest of the class being pad work drills and combos.
Please check with an instructor to see if you are ready for Intermediate classes
For our Intermediate and higher students, this class is a traditional 90 minute Muay Thai class consisting of a dynamic warmup and functional fitness component, and partner padwork.
A high level of physical fitness is needed as the intensity is pretty high, and competency in footwork, all the basic strikes, and pad holding is essential. This class is not beginner friendly!
Lotus students will have to have passed an assessment to ensure they’re a good fit for this program. Experienced students joining us from other facilities – ask the front desk about getting a skills assessment to join these classes.
