Join the Lotus Fitness coaching team in Toronto

Lotus Fitness and Thai Boxing is a Muay Thai and BJJ gym in Liberty Village, Toronto. Since 2018, we’ve built a reputation for authentic technique, champion-level coaching, and a genuinely inclusive community — and our coaching staff reflects that.

We’re currently hiring part-time instructors for both our Muay Thai and BJJ programs. We’re not just looking for technical skill. We’re looking for coaches who care about the people they teach — who are energised by helping someone land a technique for the first time, not just by competing themselves.

Lotus Fitness and Thai Boxing is an equal opportunity employer.

You’ve Got Choices…

Why Coach at Lotus Fitness?

Our coaching staff includes the 2025 WMC Canadian Muay Thai Champion, the 2025 IFMA Pan American Champion, multiple Ontario Provincial Champions, and BJJ brown belts with competition pedigree from Gracie Humaitá and 10th Planet lineages.

You’d be joining a team that takes the craft seriously.

Beyond credentials, Lotus has earned 80+ five-star Google reviews since 2018 — built on a culture that is genuinely non-toxic, inclusive, and welcoming.

We pay at or above Toronto’s living wage, and we believe in compensating coaches fairly for every hour they work, including opening and closing procedures.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a part-time Muay Thai instructor to teach weekday daytime, weekday evening, and weekend classes at our Liberty Village gym. This role is for someone with authentic Muay Thai experience, a magnetic personality, and a genuine commitment to creating a welcoming environment for students of all levels — from first-timers to experienced practictioners.

What the role involves

Arrive before class to complete gym opening procedures and prepare the space for members. Welcome first-time visitors — give them a tour, explain how class works, help them wrap their hands, and set them up for a great first experience. Greet existing members as they arrive and confirm their registration. Lead 60 or 90-minute Muay Thai group classes: warm-up, strength and conditioning, and Muay Thai technique on pads or heavy bags. Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions with clients as scheduled. Complete gym closing procedures and securely lock up the facility after the last class.

What we’re looking for

Authentic Muay Thai experience — ideally two or more years of serious practice. Certifications are an asset — Blue Shorts, Kru or Poo Choi from the Naikhanomtom Association of Canada. Ring experience is an asset. Experience running kids Muay Thai or martial arts programs is a plus. A personality that is energized by connecting with people — this role is as much about community-building as it is about technique. Fitness certifications or personal training credentials are an asset. Comfort with iPads, Android tablets, and gym management software. Physical fitness to demonstrate techniques and ability to lift 50 lbs to move equipment.

Compensation

$22–$33 per hour depending on experience. We pay at or above Toronto’s living wage and compensate for all hours worked, including opening and closing procedures.

How to apply

Email careers@lotusfitness.ca with your resume and a cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit. We want to know about your non-Muay Thai background too — your full story matters to us.

BJJ Instructor – Part Time, Liberty Village Toronto

Learn more about the opportunity here:

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a part-time BJJ instructor to teach evening and weekend No-Gi classes at our Liberty Village gym. Our BJJ program is growing and we want a coach who is as passionate about teaching as they are about grappling — someone who brings technical depth, structured lesson planning, and a culture-first approach to every class.

What the role involves

Arrive 15 minutes before class to complete gym opening procedures and prepare the mats. Welcome first-time visitors — introduce yourself, explain how class works, and make their first experience a positive one. Greet existing members as they arrive and confirm their registration. Lead the full 90-minute No-Gi BJJ class from start to finish — warm-up, technique instruction, drilling, and situational or live rolling as appropriate for the class level. Complete gym closing procedures and securely lock up after the last class.

What we’re looking for

Proven BJJ experience with a track record of teaching — belt level and lineage matter and will be discussed during the interview process. A coaching style that balances structured technical drilling with live situational training — we want students to build real foundations, not just survive rolls. A commitment to inclusivity — our gym is progressive and diversity-focused, and every instructor must actively foster an environment free of toxicity, misogyny, and discrimination. Evening and weekend availability. Ideally based close to Liberty Village for easy commuting. Experience with kids BJJ programs is a plus. Comfort with iPad/Android devices and gym management software.

Compensation

$22–$33 per hour depending on experience. We pay at or above Toronto’s living wage and compensate for all hours worked, including opening and closing procedures.

How to apply

Email careers@lotusfitness.ca with your resume — including your non-BJJ education and work background — and tell us why you think we’d be a great fit for each other.
